Mar-Proof 550 Lacquer Sanding Sealer and Finishes are premium quality, high solid, nitrocellulose lacquers that have been specifically formulated to meet the requirements of the newly adopted 550 V.O.C. Air Quality Rules/Regulations for Architectural/Wood Coatings. These products are uniquely designed to produce a high solids "Water White" completely clear (no amber tone) film with excellent flowing qualities, while requiring minimal sanding sealer with less sanding in between coats. These Lacquer Sealer/Finish Systems when used in tandem with Simpson Coatings Stain, provides a top-line heat/mar resistant finish system that is impervious to water, detergent, alcohol and is resistant to common food stain substances such as mustard and catsup.
Mar-Proof Lacquer Sealer and finishes are designed to be used for professional application over fine furniture, kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, wood paneling, interior wood doors and trim, or any decorative interior wood fixture such as stair rails and spindles, fashionable wood moldings and accents, that requires a high durable mar/impact resistant finish.

Mar-Proof Precatalyzed Lacquers are extremely durable single component self-sealing modified nitrocellulose finishes that meet or exceed the rigid performance standards of the National Kitchen Cabinet Association (N.K.C.A.). They are specifically formulated to meet the requirements of the Architectural/Wood Product Coatings Rules/Regulations and V.O.C. Emission Schedules in the various marketed Air Quality Districts. Using these lacquer products in tandem with Simpson Coatings non-stearated Clear Vinyl Sanding Sealer #103-111C or Single Component 550 Vinyl Sanding Sealer #103-881, clearly provides the ultimate moisture resistant wood finishing system that has true "Water White" color clarity (non amber tone), with an exceptional level of resistance to harsh chemicals/solvents, abrasion and alkali. Mar-Proof 550 Precatalyzed Lacquers are formulated for use on all types of interior wood products such as kitchen cabinets, furniture, mill work, doors, decorative trim/molding and paneling or anywhere a hard abrasion and moisture resistant finish is desired.

These Lacquer Sealer and Finishes are designed intentionally for the contractors economy, specifically for professional application to open or closed grain interior finished wood surfaces, where multiple build coats may be applied rapidly to obtain a solid, tough, yet decorative finish. The Contractors 550 Lacquer Finishes are recommended for cabinets, doors, woodwork, virtually any finishing hard woods such as birch or ash, as well as soft woods like pine or fir.

550 Pigmented Lacquers are premium quality, high hiding, pigmented nitrocellulose lacquer finishes that have been specifically formulated to meet the newly adopted 550 V.O.C. Air Quality Rules/Regulation requirements for Architectural/Wood Coatings. These rapidly drying lacquer finishes are designed for the professional/commercial wood coatings applicators that require the finish to be tough, mar resistant with excellent color and gloss retention. Designed for professional spray application, 550 Pigmented Lacquers have excellent build and adhesion qualities for a variety of interior wood substrates. They are highly recommended for finishing wood furniture, cabinets, paneling, doors/trim, decorative molding and musical instruments. The 550 Pigmented Lacquers are available in two ready-mix colors, white and black in four different gloss finishes. In addition, Simpson Coatings features three pigmented tint bases in 4 different gloss finishes, i.e., 550 white & pastel tint base for tinting pastel colors using up to 4 ounces of colorant per gallon, 550 pigmented deeptone base for tinting midtone deep colors using up to 8 ounces of colorant per gallon, and 550 pigmented masstone base for tinting ultra deep colors using up to 16 ounces of colorant per gallon.

550 Single Component Vinyl Sanding Sealer is a clear, fast drying, easy sanding, stearate free, high solid sanding sealer designed to give a higher building, superior moisture resistant sealer system under Catalyzed Finish Systems such a: Clear and Pigmented Conversion Varnishes, Urethane Finishes, and Un-Catalyzed Finish Systems such as: Water White Clear and Pigmented CAB Acrylic Lacquers, as well as Precatalyzed Lacquer Systems. This fast drying, clear 550 Single Component Vinyl Sanding Sealer is specifically formulated to meet the performance standards of the Institutional/Commercial, Office Furniture, Cabinets, and Interior Wood Finishers Markets. Used in tandem with a variety of different clear and pigmented finishes, it is the ideal sanding sealer for providing improved film building properties, adhesion, and moisture resistance for a more technically advanced, durable finishing system over kitchen cabinets, vanities, chairs, tables, desks, wood paneling and over white, natural or lightly colored wood substrates anywhere a hard durable moisture resistant finish with true water white color clarity is required.
